Newborn Edinburgh Photography

I had the privelege of capturing this adorable little newborn boy who was only 9 days new. I was surprised at his focus and thoughtful stares throughout the session. Other times he had the longest and deepest sleeps. His parents really enjoyed choosing the different colour for their final images. They chose props they loved. We created the most beautiful images of Connor which I know they will reflect on many, many days as he grows up.

I captured Connor in stunning blues, sage greens and creams. I always ask and hope parents bring special gifts and thoughtful keepsakes to incorporate in their images. These images are documenting their unique life together.

A newborn photoshoot is an extremely special session. Your little baby will be changing daily at this stage. The newborn session is a purely baby led session in a calm and comfortable environment. Baby safety is the mosy important aspect when capturing your baby which means a newborn session can never be rushed and proper attention is given to your baby at all times.

All that said, a newborn photoshoot is still worth the effort. The 3 hours you’ll spend having your newborn photoshoot will give you a lifetime of joy and pleasure. Every time you look at those photos on the wall you’ll remember just how teeny tiny your baby was and how much love you have for that child.

Two-week-old babies are great for newborn sessions. They are still super sleepy, easy to pose in traditional newborn poses. This is why many people that teach newborn photography use it as the date to gauge when a baby is too old for newborn pictures

Children develop neck strength at different rates but between 12 and 16 weeks is usually about right for a photo shoot.
